      Nebula Awards Announced

      Vonda N. McIntyre's alternate history/fantasy novel set in the court
      of Louis XIV, _The Moon and the Sun_, has won the Nebula for best

      Hugo Awards Nominations Announced

      The following novels have been announced as Hugo Award nominees,
      according to Locus: _Forever Peace_ (by Joe Haldeman), _Frameshift_
      (by Robert J. Sawyer), _Rise of Endymion_ (by Dan Simmons), _Jack
      Faust_ (by Michael Swanwick), and _City on Fire_ (by Walter Jon

      Forthcoming SF&Fantasy Books

      According to Amazon.com, Orson Scott Card has returned to his
      alternate history/fantasy Tales of Alvin the Maker series with book 5,
      _Heartfire_, due to be published in July 1998. Another alternate
      history due soon is Harry Turtledove's _Great War: American Front_
      (where the Second Civil War gives way to the First World War on the

      Forthcoming SF, Fantasy, & Gaming Cons

      Anime fans will be gathering in the Dallas/Metroplex are May 29-31,
      1998 for Project A-kon. June 26-28 will be a busy weekend with I
      Think Therefore I Con in Houston and Conestoga '98 in Tulsa, OK.

      Science Fiction on TV

      Babylon 5 returns to TNT May 27 with new episodes, followed by fifth
      season reruns starting on July 1. "Thirdspace", the second new B5
      movie, premieres July 19. (Some of the last fifth season episodes,
      however, are being held back to show in the fall.) There will be one
      more sports preemption on June 24 for an live NBA Draft special. For

      Houston-area and Texas Science Fiction Organizations

      Last month Several Unlimited held an Internet Zine Sale and with word
      of mouth advertising sold many thousands of dollars of zines. They
      are planning on doing it again next year. Next time you'll let us
