  • Houston Chronicle Obituaries | Searching for Obits online using the Houston Chronicle |
    1) Search the Houston Chronicle via Legacy.com
    2) Select time period desired. If it was sometime in the past, select All Time and that will search back to the date obits were available in the database (which may be 1985).
    3) To change newspapers, click More Options (above last name)
    Obits from Houston Chronicle (or Houston Post) microfilm: [especially for obits pre-1985]
    1) Use Email Reference Form to ask Houston Public Library to photocopy obit for you.
    2) One-page obits are $3 each. If it runs to a second page, add $1.
    3) Photocopy fees may be paid by mailing in a check, using a credit card to pay by phone, or paying in person.
    4) Houston Public Library will photocopy other articles (non-obits) too.
