Shell Freedom Over Texas July 4, 2023


This year's Freedom Over Texas is an event filled with six-hours of festivities, tradition, and live concert stages, along Allen Parkway. Freedom Over Texas will feature local, regional, and national entertainment and will be capped off with a musically choreographed, "Texas-sized" fireworks finale. This event has become Houston’s annual signature July 4th celebration with an average of 50,000 people in attendance and is televised live in Houston.

Festival activities include fireworks, strolling entertainment, face painting, balloon art, children's arts and crafts, concessions and live music on two stages.

July 4th Celebration and Street Fest

"Join us to commemorate the 50th anniversary of our amazing July 4th Celebration & Street Fest event! Beat the heat and stay cool at this annual event on Business Highway 249 just north of FM 2920 in Tomball. Enjoy live music, food, and one of the biggest fireworks shows in Houston. It'll be a patriotic birthday celebration in Tomball as the City stages the biggest Independence Day event in northwest Harris County. Free admission and parking.

Business Highway 249 north of FM 2920 (behind Kroger) will shut down for the annual celebration as the street fills with music, food, vendors, a cool-zone, a kids zone starting at 4:00 p.m. There will be live music starting at 5:30 p.m. with Willow Creek Junction, followed by Breakfast at Tiffany’s. Sing-along to traditional patriotic tunes during the special tribute to veterans and active-duty military. The evening concludes with a giant aerial fireworks display starting at 9:30 p.m.

There will be food vendors to satisfy your taste buds, craft vendors to find unique gifts and custom items, and water inflatables and a cool-zone to beat the heat.

Coolers are allowed, but no outside alcohol or glass containers may be brought into the festival area.

Parking is available at any parking lot in the "Four Corners" area of Tomball at the intersection of Business Highway 249 and FM 2920. That includes Kroger, Lowe's Target, Academy, Kohl's or H-E-B. There is limited parking at the far north end of Business 249 behind the stage. Enter the limited parking area by heading north on Hicks St.

Tomball Fire Department will be monitoring all weather conditions closely and will keep the public updated regarding the status of the fireworks show."

July 4th Family Games Festival

"Join us for the annual July 4th celebration which this year is on a Tuesday starting at 3pm and ending at 9pm.

We will be providing a variety of family-focused food, games and entertainment.

We will have a free Kid Zone with bounce house as well as two giant Jengas, two Regulation Cornhole courts, two Ladder Throw games and two Giant Connect 4 games.

AND WE HAVE AN AXE THROWING TRAILER WITH A CONTEST!!

So there will be plenty to keep the family busy.

We will have live music from 3pm to 9pm including Brenda Ray from 3pm and the Honky-Tonk Revivalists from 6pm to 9pm.

At 9pm we will end the evening with a spectacular patriotic musical laser show - Don't miss it!!"
